Directions to Black Cat

The Black Cat is located at 1811 14th Street NW Washington DC 20009. The closest Metro stop is the U Street/Cardozo/African-American Civil War Memorial station.

Covid Policy

The Black Cat continues to follow CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19. Staff are instructed to stay home if ill and we request that patrons do the same. For our customers' protection we have installed a new HVAC system in the main concert room that features better ventilation, filtration, and needlepoint bipolar ionization devices that destroy microbes in the air including SARS-COV2. The club is cleaned prior to and after every show.

Should a performer request a stricter COVID policy ticket holders will be alerted ahead of the show and the policy will be posted on our website.

Masks are strongly encouraged. We do have masks for sale at the front desk.

Ticket refunds for shows may be requested for COVID-19 related medical reasons and in advance only.

This policy is subject to change without notice.

Parking

We have partnered with SpotHero, a convenient service to reserve parking in advance. To reserve parking go to the Black Cat's page at SpotHero.

All Ages Policy

We welcome concert goers of all ages into our paid events, but we prefer those under 18 years old to have parental permission and be accompanied by an adult. Please note that we adhere to strict underage drinking restrictions and no one under the age of 21 may buy, consume, or possess alcohol. Those who do not adhere to these policies will be removed from the venue without refund and risk criminal prosecution. Please also be aware that DC has a Curfew Law which affects those under the age of 17. Read more about the DC Curfew law here.

Valid ID To Drink

Because we welcome concert goers of all ages we require a valid government issued ID from ALL patrons who wish to drink alcohol at the Black Cat, no exceptions! Patrons without valid ID will be given a hand-stamp that forbids them to buy, possess or consume alcohol at the Black Cat. If you are clearly 'of age' this policy may seem absurd to you but we must adhere to this policy in order to meet our responsibilities to the community. Those who do not adhere to these policies will be removed from the venue without refund. It is illegal to purchase alcohol for a minor and those who do so will also be removed without refund and risk criminal prosecution.

Cash

The Black Cat does accept cash. We have an ATM on-site.
