Formed in 1999 from the charred remains of two relatively obscure DC-area groups (Townies, Smart Went Crazy), the Caribbean have built themselves a strange little place in the rock world. Unabashed pop with post-rock production and hints at alt-country twang - it's the folk music of the new American service economy.
