It wouldn't be hard to argue that Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra is one of the most post-meta groups out there today. With seven members, found sounds, and songs about black block anarchists, each album plays like an ethnomusicology thesis just waiting to happen. But the band's origins weren't necessarily so high-brow. Efrim Menuck, a founding member of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, formed A Silver Mt. Zion in part to write a tribute album to his dog Wanda.
