On mission to combine the social earnestness of folk, the spiritual outpouring of psychedelia, and the booty-shaking raucousness of rock'n'roll, singer/guitarist Andrew Grossman, brought together a seemingly divergent collection of rag-tag musicians near the end of 2010. Since then The North Country has developed into a cohesive and singular musical entity that combines serious musicianship with thoughtful social message. The band's strongly held belief holds that music should be more than just pleasant tunes - but rather a spiritual expression and a political call to arms - informs both their musical and lyrical content. Working steadily, The North Country have become DC's premiere psychedelic folk rock outfit for the thoughtful individual.
