Founded 1999 in Washington DC, The Mousetrap has retained its status as one of the most important DJ nights - becoming the progenitor of many nights to follow and establishing a huge pantheon of Britpop and Indiepop tunes as standards in the minds of party-goers. The first night in DC to break out Belle & Sebastian in 1999, Peter Bjorn & John in 2006 and MGMT's "Kids" in 2008. Considered a "retro" night by many because we always acknowledge our Indiepop heroes every party, we care as much about the new tracks as the old and try to give everything a fair shake. We play everything from mid-80's C86, late-70's punk to the leading edge of indie guitar pop.
