Alma Tropicália (Portuguese for Tropicália Soul) is a new creative project and DC's first ever tribute to the classic Brazilian 1960's tropicália movement. The group combines traditional Brazilian rhythms with the outrageous sounds of psychedelic pop - equal parts samba, bossa nova, forró and rock'n'roll. Alma Tropicália is composed of Elin, a renowned vocalist and master of Brazilian styles, and a group of the city's finest performers of Música Popular Brasileira. Together they delve deep into this mind-altering musical movement to deliver a mix of tropicália-inspired originals and classics, all filtered through the group's signature noise rock sound.

Lucky Dub's newest album, Mindset, is a perfectly-blended mash up that captures their live energy and creative studio ingenuity. While remaining true to their roots-reggae beginnings, the band branches out to draw from other sonic genres, mirroring the diversity of the players on the record. Since 2010, Lucky Dub has received 4 Wammy nods and won multiple songwriting awards, including the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest.
